Pen Friends
一.教学准备与分析
1、 Teaching material:
Students Book:Module5Unit 2Activity1, 2, 3
2、Teaching aim and demand
a. Using Ability task :Using ‘can’to talk about abilities.
According one’s hobby make new friends.
b. Moral task: Students love to communicate.
A.Basic Demands:
Vocabulary:Australia French pet
Sentences: Who can be your pen friend?
I can be your friend.
He can speak French.
I like doing sth.
B.Further Demand: Like doing sth/ Because…..
C.Revision
The using way of “I can do….”
3、Key words:Australia French pet
4、Teaching difficulties:
The using way of “be”,以及 Australia的读音
5、Teaching aids
Tape recorder, photos, word cards, pictures.
二、课堂教学程序{ Period One}第一课时
1、Warm up
⑴Greetings: T—Ss Ss—Ss
(2)Game: What can you do?
Students four a group
A: I can sing a song.
B: I can sing a song and play the violin.
C: I can sing song, play the violin and draw a picture.
D: I can sing song, play the violin ,draw a picture and jump high.
2、导入 (Leading )
(1)A. ( Guess! Who am I?)
P1: Hellow! I can sing songs, and I can play basketball. I like playing the piano, playing the basketball, and I like POP music,. listen ! this is my song.
(Zhou Jielun)
P2: Hi! I am a super sportsman, I can run very very fast, I like running, I like singing too!
(Liu Xiang)
Students guess out
B. Lead in
1)T: Show PPT again, students find their friend and tell the reason;
S1: Zhou can be my friend, because he can sing songs very well.
2) T: Now students, I will introduce more friends to you, they are on your books, let’s see, how many friend wil you get today. Student take out their books.
3、呈现(Presentation)
(1)S open their books
(2)Listen to the tape, students pay attention how do they introduce their name, age and adddress.
(3) Teacher teach the key points.
a. The key points: Australia French pet Sydney Hong Kong London San Francisco
b. The main sentences structure:
“I can do….”
Like doing sth/ Because…..
(4) repeat after the tape.
(5) students close the book.teacher call out information about the different people and the students have to tell whom teacher are talking about.
T: He is from Auatralia.
Ss: Is it Mike?
T: Yes!

4.教师板书:
“ … can be my friend, because he/she can ….”的语言结构.
5. 选择完成运用任务
学生从活动1中挑选出一个笔友,并给他写一封信。要求学生在信中着重作自我介绍,讲述自己的兴趣爱好和能力。

{ Period Two }第二课时
1. Teaching Task and aim
a.More practicing about asking one’s ability, revise ‘can’ and ‘can’t’
b. Students learn the chant
c.Let the students focus on the correct stress when saying a sentence.
Vocabulary:pleased meet address pen friend Australia French pet
Sentences : Can you …?
Yes, I can./ No, I can’t.
3.Teaching process:
Step1. Warm up
a. Encourage the students to suggest fun activities and write them on the board:
Play computer games dance
Swim sing
Ice-skate roller-skate
b. Ask a student to the front, others can ask questions.
S1:can you ice-skate?
S: No, I can’t.
……..
Step2. Do activity 3.
a. Listen to the tape.
b. Listen again, students claps hands, they can clap harder when hear the stressed words.
c. Students repeat
Step3. Listen and say, then sing.
a. Divide the class up into groups of three.
b. Assign one group as ‘speak’, one as ‘write’ and one as ‘sing’. Each group sings their part of the song and holds up their picture.
Step4. Listen and do.
a. Students choose one item from the following and do action.
Can you do what I can do?
Can you say what I can say?
Can you sing what I can sing?
b. If others can do, they hands up and say “Yes, I can”, then he do the same thing as the last student.
Step5. Home work
1. Words dictation.
2. Read activity 3 stress words

{ Period Three}第三课时
Do Exercise in Activity Book.
Step1. Do exercise 1. Listen and tick True or False.
a. Listen to the tape.
b. Correct the false statements.
Step2. Do exercise 2. Answer the questions.
a. Tell the studebts to read through the questions.
b. Ask a student to the front, others ask questions:
Ss:Can you play volleyball?
S1: No, I can’t.
Teacher writes on board: ‘ I can’t play volleyball’.
…..
c. Then ask students answer the questions by themselves.
Step3. Do exercise 4 Write about you
Tell the students that they have to write to a pen friend about the things they can and cannot do.
注:后两课时为班级词汇竞赛及英语报纸讲习课。
